Greg cohn, Co-founder

Prior to Ad Hoc Labs, Greg led strategy and business development for social and developer platforms at Yahoo!, where he worked on identity (OpenID, oAuth), Yahoo's Brickhouse incubator, and partnerships with Facebook, Google, Twitter, Zynga, and other industry leaders. Before Yahoo!, Greg was a key executive at several startups, including Away.com (sold to Orbitz) and Everyday Health. He began his career in book publishing and holds degrees from Penn and Oxford.

Will Carter, co-founder

Will is a developer and a designer focusing on mobile experience, interaction, and product. Before Ad Hoc Labs, Will worked as the lead engineer and designer at Protohaus, prototyping mobile UI and UX for clients such as Samsung, Google, and Sony. Will was a Senior UX Researcher at Nokia, focused on Augmented Reality and next-generation mobile interactions. Will also founded Nodesnoop Labs, building iPhone apps for such clients as Sony, Disney, and Coke. He is a graduate of Brown University and USC's School of Cinema-Television, where he studied Interactive Media.

Doug sellers

Douglas is the Chief Technical Officer at Burner. His primary role is to make sure that Burner doesn’t burn to the ground. He comes from a long history of technical and management positions at a startups including CustomInk, Blurb, Kumu and GOOD. He originally started doing software development on a Commodore 64 when he 7 and has been working hard at being a geek since then.


Roy Smith

AIDEN

Aidan was born and raised in the wilds of Australia and is now Ad Hoc Labs’ Frontend Developer. He spent his 20s playing guitar for Aussie rock band Wolfmother, touring the world before making the exciting switch to tech. He is honored to have joined the Ad Hoc Labs team.

Gloria Wilson

ALYSSA

Alyssa is a Southern California native (#unicorn) who came to us from the world of coffee, previously specializing in enlightened hospitality. She’s since turned her expertise to QA, the ultimate customer advocacy. If you ask the office, they would say her super power is destroying ambiguity; solving problems before they happen. She fancies puzzles, binging anime and sci-fi shows, and hanging out with her two sleepertons (doggos) in her spare time.

Laura Hill

BRAD

Brad is the team's Lead Android Engineer. In the past, he has been a team lead on many prominent and high-quality Android app teams, including Spotify, Disney+, and ESPN. Brad also has extensive server-side experience at these companies, rounding out his expertise. He is a passionate advocate for his platform and enjoys experimenting with new technologies.

Carlos Bennett

DAVE

David is a Lead Platform Engineer at Burner. David has previously built out microservices from the ground up at Bluebeam Inc. and spearheaded 3rd-party integrations for a variety of companies. He has a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and a Masters in Computer Science from CSUN.

Daniel Cho

ELIZABETH

Elizabeth is Ad Hoc Labs’ Office Manager. She helps keep the ship running by keeping the bills paid and the lights on, in addition to anything and everything else that comes up in the startup environment. When not in the office, Elizabeth also wears many hats while working with various theater and film companies around the city.

Arthur Riccardo

EMILY

Emily is the Support Manager and started at Burner in September 2017. She couldn't be happier about working in a customer-facing role where she can interact with the people who use our app, learn more about them and help solve their issues. When she's not managing the support team, Emily performs improv and sketch comedy!

Roy Kaufmann

GABE

Gabe is a Platform Engineer, maintaining and adding features to the back end systems that power the Burner app. Gabe was previously a software engineer at Bluebeam, working on the back end for the cloud and licensing teams. Outside the office (and sometimes inside the office), he is an avid ultimate frisbee player who dabbles in chess and music.

Elizabeth Sanchez

JOSH

Josh works at the intersection of Product & Growth at Ad Hoc Labs. Previously, he was a Product Manager at U.S News & World Report and co-founded an interest and identity based social network, LykeMe. He is a graduate of both Michigan State and USC Marshall School of Business. Fight On!

Christina Aiko

KYLE

Kyle is Director of DevOps and Cloud at Burner. His focus is on service reliability, reducing developer roadblocks, and architecting cloud solutions. Kyle is passionate about open source culture and volunteers as a member of SCaLE’s core Tech Team. When he’s not hacking on a computer, you can find him trying to keep up with his highly active wife and kids, playing board games, or backpacking through the Sierras.

Anne Simmons

MATT

Matt is Ad Hoc Labs' Lead iOS Developer. A long-time Apple fan and specialist, he has developed apps on the mobile platform over the past seven years for various companies, including Vizio and Grindr. When not coding, Matt enjoys playing guitar, challenging a friend or coworker to a game of chess, and camping.

Fred Amirpour

XAVIER

Xavier is Burner's resident Growth Geek and Innovation Broker. He doesn’t have problems, he has solutions. Once upon a time he graduated from UCSB with a BA in Political Science where he lived with and got his start managing the band IRATION. With a background of digital marketing in the music, touring, and festival world he brings a unique perspective to Ad Hoc Labs and Burner. He doesn’t own a car yet somehow lives in Los Angeles riding a bicycle. To achieve the impossible, it is precisely the unthinkable that must be thought.
